SPRING CURB APPEAL ON A BUDGET

Spring has come to southeastern Pennsylvania, and homeowners are eager to experience the beauty of all that the season has to offer. The exuberance of nature will be all around us soon, and we’ll be able to enjoy it even more if our outdoor spaces are lovely, comfortable, and inviting.

Boosting the curb appeal of your home can make a huge difference in the way you, your family, and your friends experience your outdoor space, as well as in the value your home commands if you are putting it on the market to sell. Tackling outdoor projects may sound like a daunting or costly job, but there is a lot you can do without breaking the bank. Here are a few of Modern Landscape’s favorite tips for creating high impact curb appeal on a budget.

Roll out the red carpet

Or at least the woven mat. One incredibly simple way to add a note of style and personality to your doorstep is to introduce a doormat, or replace your old one with a bright new mat.

Open new doors

Want an instant game changer for your home’s curb appeal? Get a gallon of paint and give your front door a facelift. Be sure you have carefully removed old paint and primed the door, and that you are using a paint made for exterior surfaces, so you can be sure to get the best—and most long lasting—results.

Make your mailbox a fashion statement

If you already have a mailbox in front of your house by the curb, consider replacing it with a newer, spiffier version. Don’t have a mailbox? You can install one pretty easily right on the side of your house next to your front door. They come in a variety of colors and styles, and a range of process starting at very inexpensive.

Make an easy job of hardware

Just like changing the cabinet pulls and knobs in your bathroom or kitchen can completely change the look of the room, swapping out your old and dated door knob for a new one can make all the difference in your home’s first impression.

Put a ring on it

Of greenery, that is. Hanging a wreath on your front door is a super easy way to up your curb appeal. They are simple to make or inexpensive to purchase, and can be switched out seasonally to keep the look fresh.

Get the swing of it

Have a porch? Nothing says curb appeal like a porch swing, tastefully appointed with a comfy pillow and throw blanket. Add a little side table and you’ve got a cozy reading nook for those warm spring afternoons.
